Peterson Energy Consultants was a great find on Angie's List. Paul and his team did an excellent job on insulating my mother's home. Paul was very personable, professional, knowledgeable, and clear about his services – he took the time to explain the details of the work and was quick to respond to any questions and did not rush the job during the install. Paul and his wife, Mindy, even went above and beyond on their way back from vacation to assist with a heating issue where the heat would not turn on which turned out to be a simple furnace breaker switch that was turned off. PEC is truly a company that is determined to help people and their home efficiency needs and works with you on affordability. Foam engineer's composite grade A: science= A, installation= A. Starting with the science, a Company that fills foam mattresses for a living that reinvents itself as an Insulation Specialist has to know something… beginning with Paul, the detail and documentation for the quote was superior for our rehab project. On to the 120 year old renovation project, the combined commuter time of the the three installers is 6 hrs. These men drive 6 hours each day to work( Steeleville,Owensville, Jef. County). These men are serious workers. For example, scott built a special ladder to access a crawl space. He is the only one that knows if he got it right or not. We trust him. Paul Peterson and his team was great to work with. We had terrible insulation and Brown recluse spiders coming out of the light fixtures and bathroom vents from the attic. He and his guys worked hard to get all the insulation cleaned out, everything in the attic sealed up (no more spiders dropping into our living space) and repaired some areas where the drywall had been destroyed. They even built a walkway for me to be able to get around the chimney and attic fan area, and also a storage area for the items that are stored up there. They did a fantastic job and our ac is finally not struggling to keep the house cooled. The ac now cycles off as it should and can quickly cool the house down. Paul and his team did a great job adding insulation to our house. They removed all the old insulation and an exhaust fan and then air sealed the attic floor. Cellulose R-49 was sprayed into the attic after the air seal. They also removed all the fiberglass insulation from our crawl space and added spray foam to the rim joists. Paul also fixed a drywall issue with a low spot in our ceiling. We have noticed a difference in how much less the AC runs compared to before the insulation work. Our last electric bill was about $40 less compared to the previous month. They treated our house like it was one of their own. Honest recommendations and fair prices are two things that make this company great! ~ Ryan S

Very impressed from start to finish with Foam Engineers! Mindy came out for the estimate and was extremely thorough in explaining the process of installing cellulose insulation and the resulting benefits. The estimate was very detailed, including photos.The installation took place yesterday and we had a fabulous crew! Alex was the lead and impressed me with his knowledge and professionalism. Colin, Dylan, and Tony were all very competent and skilled workers as well. All were committed to the successful completion of the project in a timely manner. I had to run an errand and felt comfortable leaving the guys on their own. Mindy dropped by during the installation. Her attentiveness and follow-up were very much appreciated. We used Foam Engineers to install Foam insulation in our attic. First after several years of thermostat set at 72 in the summer and our home stayed between 75 to 78 all day in the summer. We had an Air Conditioner company come out to install a new AC. They explained to us we just need insulation and it will improve our temperature in our home. Foam Engineers came out a couple weeks ago installed the Foam insulation in our attic and we were amazed. Our temperature in our home stays at what we now set out thermostat or below. I would give them 10 stars if I could for their customer service, installers and just the job overall. Highly recommend. ~ Cj B

From beginning to end, this company is excellent! Mindy came out to look at our attic space and give us an estimate. Not only was she professional and friendly, but she was also extremely knowledgeable. It’s clear that Mindy has had a lot of experience doing insulation installation and problem-solving challenging spaces. We have had mice in our attic space, and we were thrilled to have all of that yucky, old insulation removed and have the space cleaned out. We had the pleasure of having an outstanding team of workers do the insulation removal as well as the foam installation. Each member of the team— Anthony, Eric, Dalton, David , & Scott— was careful and considerate, and all-around just plain NICE! When the team came out to install an attic fan and redo the insulation in our attic and foam our rim joists. the prep work by this company is incredible, they protect all of the places they are working in your house. there was a mechanical failure on their sprayer so after they finished the attic they would have to return once the sprayer was fixed. the communication from pure insulation was very clear and transparent about returning to finish our rim joists. They did a fantastic job and are very professional. I don't let just anyone into my home but the install teams professional attitude and great work exceeded my expectations. My experience with PEC was fantastic. They accommodated my schedule and the crew was very professional. I had my attic and HVAC ducts air sealed and insulated in a 90's ranch home. The difference in comfort was noticeable immediately. Previously on cold days, the air coming out of the vents was luke-warm and the house just felt cold. After PEC performed their work, it was 15F outside and the ducts were still delivering hot air through the attic and the home actually felt warm. Also, the traffic noise of of nearby I-55 was noticeably reduced which was an added benefit. I highly recommend PEC to improve the comfort and efficiency of your home. ~ Thomas T

Dylan, Tony & Colin called and showed up right when they said they would. After starting the job of repairing the posts there was an issue with rotting wood. Their boss Chris came, evaluated the problem, talked to my husband & I and came up with an alternate plan. Chris left to pick up the new posts and implemented the new plan. Then they started on the foam injection and had to manually install it. They were so easy to work with, finished the same day and Chris worked along side the entire day. We have been home owners for 35 years and never had to deal with this problem, we made the best decision choosing Foam Engineers! ~ Mary J

Wonderful company to have insulation work performed by! They offer multiple types of insulation to suit your needs as well as polyfoam jacking/concrete raising services! All though their office staff are wonderful to talk and schedule with, I truly enjoy that they also offer an online booking service to set up a free estimate appointment during a busy work day or on weekends when you are unable to step away to contact them during business hours! Makes it extremely easy to schedule with them if you are like me and sometimes don’t have time to stop and schedule anything until later in the evening! ~ Madilynn G

We called Mindy for a quote on the installation of three Solatubes and she came out the same day to give us a price. She explained all of the new features and because we had a tube before, we knew all of the great benefits (they do not leak). The three installers arrived on time and walked through each room with us to understand where we wanted to the tubes and how best to fit them. They took their time to get the installations done right and cleaned up afterwards. Our guest bathroom, laundry room and garage now have lots of natural light. Foam Engineers presented the most comprehensive plan for adding extra insulation to our attic compared to the other estimates we received. Their proposal went beyond simply blowing in insulation—it included installing baffling and radiant reflective material where needed, wrapping skylights, and repairing bath vents to ensure the attic was properly insulated and efficient. The team that came out was exceptionally friendly, polite, and professional—THE BEST we've ever had at our home. They were great to work with! I got an almost immediate response to my request for a quote, the inspection was set up right away, and the work was scheduled within a week of signing. They increased the ventilation - there had been no airflow at all from the soffits into the attic! - sealed open areas, installed a new bathroom vent fan and vented it and another existing fan out of the attic, and added a substantial amount of badly needed insulation. From start to finish, they were friendly and professional, and the crew did a wonderful job. I don't know how hot it was in the attic but it was 100 degrees outside the first day of the project; but being so experienced, they knew how to work safely and efficiently even in such extreme heat. And there was no mess whatsoever - they created a new access in the garage to avoid having to use the existing access located in my bedroom closet. (What can I say, a 1970s home.) Talking with Mindy and Paul with Peterson Energy was the best decision we made this year! We struggled with keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter since we bought our home in the fall of 2017. Assuming we only needed insulation, I called for a quote and met with Mindy within a couple of days. Using their expertise, we had a more significant problem and found no airflow in the attic. The attic was not sealed and had improper insulation. They showed us the impressive hot temps in our walls on their heat camera and explained what is causing the issue. The suggested a gable fan, sealing the attic and new insulation. We went forward with the work, and it changed our lives! We went from an average of 78 degrees in the summer with the thermostat set at 72, to having the house at 72 degrees and without the AC on 24/7. LIFE CHANGER. The crew arrived on time and did a great job. Charles and Tony were very professional and answered all our questions. They protected the floors before conducting the work and cleaned everything up after completing the installation. They also explained the details of what needed to be done. We needed additional work to be done prior to the installation of the insulation. Everthing was.completed according to our satisfaction. Great crew. Overall great experience. The office could use some process improvements. After accepting invoice, it said i would be contacted, but two weeks went by and I had to call them, i had to pay 50% to schedule the job. It should be share schedule then get initial payment. Further you have to wait for shop manager to re estimate hours but no price changes going from one day to 4 hours. office said that's how it works. They need to update their communications to set proper customer expectations. ~ Rob P

I LOVE P.E.C. ❤️ These guys came in and worked diligently for 10 hours making my new 2 Story house my home. It was so hot upstairs we couldn’t even enjoy our new home. We had several insulation company’s give us a bid, but after talking to Paul we knew he wasn’t just trying to sell us insulation. Him and his 4 guys spent hours prepping our ducts so once the insulation was added we got the coolest air possible. They were polite, hard working, and did an AMAZING job cleaning up after themselves. I cannot thank these guys enough!! ~ Michelle S

Mr. Peterson and his employees did a great job with our new house. We are very pleased with results. We immediately could tell a difference in the regulation of the temperatures throughout the whole house. The temperature is the same on the main floor as it is on the second story. It's pretty amazing. Before it was at least 5-7 degrees hotter on the second story. Mr. Peterson is very knowledgeable, timely and provided excellent service. There was a small hiccup with our gable being so shallow, but the team with Foam Engineers was flexible working with us, with our schedules, and with our budget. The install was 100% taken care of. They cleaned up after so well, the only difference in my house was the fact that we now have top tier insulation in the attic. No mess, no fuss.
